Shira MedTech Private Limited is a national award-winning medical device innovation startup founded in 2016, headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Our mission is to make high-quality microsurgical instruments accessible to surgeons and training programs worldwide — without compromise on precision or performance.
We collaborate closely with practicing microsurgeons, biomedical engineers, and clinical researchers to build instruments that address real, unmet needs in the operating room. Every product we make is tested against the demands of live microvascular procedures before it reaches a surgeon's hands.
Our Flagship Innovation
Our landmark product, the Shira 3-Jaw Microvascular Clamp, is a patented redesign of the microvascular approximator clamp. Unlike conventional Acland-style clamps, the 3-Jaw design everts the blood vessel end, giving surgeons clear visibility of the entire vessel lumen and eliminating the need to flip the clamp to suture the posterior wall. This reduces anastomosis time, lowers the risk of backwalling, and makes the procedure significantly more accessible to trainee surgeons.
The clamp has been independently validated in three peer-reviewed publications, including a randomized controlled trial published in the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (2023).
